Xcaret, Riviera Maya, November 4, 2024. As part of the 18th edition of Xcaret’s Festival of Life and Death Traditions, the Ha’ restaurant at Hotel Xcaret México—recently awarded a Michelin Star—hosted an exceptional culinary experience in collaboration with the renowned brand Clase Azul. Held on Friday, November 1, the event invited guests to enjoy a special pairing that combined Xcaret’s haute cuisine with the elegance and depth of Clase Azul tequila, forming part of the Apapaxoa Festival GastroCultural Xcaret activities.
The dinner was led by acclaimed Mexican chef Carlos Gaytán, who designed an exclusive menu for Ha’ in which every dish paid tribute to the tradition and richness of Mexican cuisine. “Every detail of this dinner was carefully conceived to honor our traditions and take our guests on a sensory journey through the flavors of Mexico,” commented Carlos Hannon, Director of Gastronomy for Xcaret Hotels.
Clase Azul México complemented the experience with its Clase Azul Tequila Día de Muertos Edición Limitada: Música (Day of the Dead Limited Edition: Music). This artisanal collector’s piece, with its intense plum hue, embodies the smooth, tranquil cadence of Day of the Dead melodies. The front of the decanter features a 24-karat gold-plated ornament with a fine patina finish—crafted by the Milagros de Latón workshop in Tesistán, Jalisco—depicting a joyful Catrina accordion player dancing to the music. This añejo tequila, aged for 26 months in American whiskey casks and finished in Scotch whisky casks from the Isle of Skye, offered a distinctive flavor profile.
“Clase Azul Tequila Día de Muertos Edición Limitada: Música captures the exuberant and mystical atmosphere of the music associated with this tradition, sharing it with the entire world.” This special dinner at Ha’ is part of a series of exclusive dinners taking place throughout the remainder of the year and into 2025 at Xcaret hotels. Each event is designed to celebrate the richness of Mexican cuisine in collaboration with top talent and iconic brands, as part of the Apapaxoa Festival GastroCultural Xcaret. Guests enjoyed an unforgettable experience where Mexican gastronomy and traditions merged in a unique tribute to cultural heritage.
