This year marks the third edition of the Xcaret Mexican Folk Art Fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From September 24 to 27, the Hacienda Henequenera at Xcaret Park will bring together more than 150 master artisans from various regions of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fair seeks to preserve Mexico’s living cultural heritage while promoting direct sales for Mexican folk art workshops and strengthening the economies of their communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xcaret, Riviera Maya, July 15, 2026. Grupo Xcaret is finalizing details for the third edition of the Xcaret Mexican Folk Art Fair, to be held from September 24 to 27 at the Hacienda Henequenera at Xcaret Park. This gathering will bring together over 150 master artisans from across the country to share the richness of Mexican folk art with visitors through unique pieces crafted using techniques and knowledge passed down through generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Established as one of the most important platforms for promoting folk art in Mexico, the Fair seeks to preserve the traditions that converge as living heritage within Mexican folk art. It fosters direct sales without intermediaries, drives economic development in the urban, rural, and indigenous communities where these workshops operate, and connects the public with the social, cultural, and historical value of an activity that remains vibrant like few others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the course of four days, visitors will be able to discover and purchase pieces directly from their creators, supporting a fair trade model that ensures the full economic benefit reaches the artisans. Additionally, the program will feature demonstrations of traditional techniques, fashion shows, presentations, contests, and various cultural activities designed to connect the public with the stories, processes, and legacy behind each work. “At Grupo Xcaret, we believe that folk art embodies Mexico’s memory, identity, and creativity. The Fair was created to recognize the immense value of master artisans, generate opportunities for them to sell their work directly, and help keep ancestral knowledge alive for future generations. Each piece tells a story, and every master artisan is a guardian of Mexico’s cultural heritage,” stated Leticia Aguerrebere, Corporate Director of Art and Culture at Grupo Xcaret. Since its inception, the Xcaret Mexican Folk Art Fair has generated a tangible impact on communities, fostering both the preservation of traditional crafts and the strengthening of local economies. The results of the 2025 edition confirm the scope of this initiative, which involved 289 artisans hailing from 22 states across the country and 18 indigenous communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This impact was also reflected in economic terms. The second edition recorded 23.3 million pesos in sales\u2014a significant increase over the previous year. Furthermore, 95% of the master artisans established new business contacts for future sales, and the participating workshops provide employment for 2,360 people\u201466% of whom are women\u2014thereby cementing the Fair\u2019s status as a platform that drives economic development, promotes fair trade, and strengthens the well-being of hundreds of artisan families in Mexico.
