Xcaret, Riviera Maya, December 4, 2025. Two years after its launch, Grupo Xcaret\u2019s Manos Xuaves<\/em> project celebrates its second anniversary, establishing itself as a leading program for inclusion and accessibility within Mexico\u2019s tourism industry. The initiative was created to open up genuine opportunities for people with disabilities and to build barrier-free experiences\u2014both in the workplace and within the Group\u2019s cultural venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially, Manos Xuaves<\/em> operated solely during the Xcaret M\u00e9xico Espectacular<\/em> show, where Mexican Sign Language interpretation was introduced for the first time to make the performance accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors. In 2025, the program welcomed 190 deaf visitors, significantly expanding its reach and presence by incorporating interpretation into the Equestrian Show and various other cultural events offered by the Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the program’s most notable contributions took place during the Apapaxoa<\/em> Gastrocultural Festival, where interpretation was provided for over 20 presentations, as well as during the Xcaret Fair of Mexican Folk Art, which saw the participation of more than 77 Mexican Sign Language users\u2014reinforcing the organization\u2019s commitment to an accessible, inclusive culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond its impact on visitors, the program has also strengthened the Group\u2019s internal culture. To date, more than 600 employees have been trained in inclusive service, helping to foster a work environment that is more sensitive, respectful, and prepared to support the experience of every individual. This training process has become a cornerstone of Grupo Xcaret\u2019s “Xostenibility” model, placing respect for diversity and the development of skills for empathetic, accessible service at the heart of its operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The steady progress of Manos Xuaves<\/em> is also reflected in the various accolades the initiative has earned over the past two years. These include the “Best Initiative for Promoting Diversity and Inclusion” from Mexico\u2019s National Awards for Sustainable, Inclusive, and Fair Tourism, as well as the “Social Purpose and Community Engagement Award” and “Inclusive Operator Award” from the Arival Spotlight Awards\u2014honors that highlight the program’s holistic approach and its contribution to a more humane, responsible tourism industry. These awards, presented by both national and international institutions, have established the program as an exemplary model within the sector, recognized for its vision of human sustainability, accessibility, and talent development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
