Grupo Xcaret

IAAPA honors Rodrigo Quintana and recognizes Grupo Xcaret with the Brass Ring Award.

Rodrigo Quintana was recognized as part of a new generation of executives making a difference in the global entertainment industry.

Additionally, Grupo Xcaret received the IAAPA Brass Ring Award for the Main Plaza at Xcaret Park, an honor recognizing excellence in design and visual display within commercial spaces.

Xcaret, Riviera Maya, March 3, 2026. Grupo Xcaret was recognized by the Global Association for the Attractions Industry (IAAPA) with two honors: the IAAPA Regional Young Professional Award, presented to Rodrigo Quintana, and the IAAPA Brass Ring Award for the Main Plaza at Xcaret Park. The results were recently announced in anticipation of the official awards presentation, which will take place in May at Xcaret Park.

The IAAPA Regional Young Professional Award honors professionals who demonstrate leadership, integrity, teamwork, and a commitment to the development of the attractions industry, while also advancing the organization’s global mission.

Rodrigo Quintana has driven an innovative vision at Grupo Xcaret as the creator of the Xurreal Innovation division. He has led various projects—most notably Xenses Insomnia Park and the evolution of Hotel Xcaret México—by integrating cultural storytelling, technology, and immersive experiences.

His career is marked by a strong commitment to inclusion. Through the multi-award-winning Manos Xuaves project—championed by Quintana—deaf individuals have been integrated as artists in entertainment experiences and as show translators; the initiative has also strengthened visitor services by employing staff trained in Mexican Sign Language. He is also a founding member of the IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) committee, which has promoted corporate policies that foster diversity and inclusion. Furthermore, through the Tec-Xcaret Chair, he contributes to training the next generation of industry leaders; his influence extends beyond the organization through his role as a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, where he promotes a purposeful vision for the future. “Receiving the IAAPA Regional Young Professional Award is an honor and, above all, a responsibility. This recognition drives us to continue innovating with purpose and to demonstrate that creativity and inclusion can transform the way experiences are lived in our industry,” said Rodrigo Quintana, Director of New Project Development and Innovation at Grupo Xcaret.

At the same ceremony, Grupo Xcaret received the IAAPA Brass Ring Award in the “Best Collective Visual Merchandise Display: Year-Round Operation” category for the design and concept of the Main Plaza at Xcaret Park—one of the park’s most iconic retail spaces.

This award recognizes excellence in visual merchandising—specifically, the way products are designed and presented within a retail space to create an experience that is cohesive, engaging, and aligned with the destination’s identity. IAAPA evaluates the ability to integrate design, storytelling, visual organization, and the visitor experience into a year-round operation. Spanning 1,800 square meters, the Main Plaza is inspired by a pre-Hispanic pyramid and offers a thematic journey that celebrates Mexico’s roots, traditions, and craftsmanship.

“These awards reflect the work of a team committed to innovation, talent development, and creating experiences that honor Mexico’s cultural identity and connect emotionally with our visitors,” noted Elizabeth Lugo, Executive Director of Parks, Tours, and Ferry Operations at Grupo Xcaret.

Additionally, Grupo Xcaret was named a finalist for its “Xostenibility” model—a comprehensive strategy that integrates environmental conservation, social well-being, and economic viability, solidifying its position as a benchmark for responsible tourism.

With these accolades, Grupo Xcaret reaffirms its leadership in the entertainment industry, driving innovation rooted in purpose, cultural identity, and responsible development.
